Stage Door actors tasted sweet success as crowds attend show at Victoria Park
Almost 1000 people flocked to Victoria Park, Nelson, last weekend to watch the younger members of Stage Door Youth Theatre present James and The Giant Peach.
Janet Parkinson, Stage Door director, said: “We had fantastic feedback from the audience who said it was a brilliant production and they want to see more next year!

Janet also said thank you to Petra and her team for opening the cafe.
The weekend marked the group’s third annual park performance, which was supported by some of the older members who worked behind the scenes.
It boasted a portable set and props and used three different areas of the park.

“It was an ensemble piece with a main cast of insects.
“Our animator ensemble had the narrations and did a wonderful job of working our set pieces and props, such as working seagulls and peaches that grew!”
The event was free but donations were taken to help with the costs.
