Kids Review: In the Night Garden Live

It’s amazing that such a simple story can hold a young audience. And spellbound they were when Iggle Piggle and his pals took centre stage at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.

In The Night Garden has an army of fans who faithfully watch the CBeebies programme every bedtime. But there is something magical about seeing the characters in the flesh, so to speak.

A packed audience spent an hour engrossed in the adventures of Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka. There are two stories to choose from and we opted for the Ninky Nonk show which told the tale of how poor Iggle Piggle lost his blanket.

The performances are acted out using giant puppets and the scenery and music is bright and cheerful and keeps fidgety children happy.

These are all told in a huge showdome which has all the mod cons needed for small people, with lots of buggy parking and toilets. A perfect day out for the family.
