Grandson of Dave Fishwick to appear in upcoming Lowry musical Bank of Dave
It will be a case of like grandfather like grandson at the upcoming Bank of Dave The Musical when a very special cast member from Burnley makes his stage debut in the Dave Fishwick-inspired story.
Ten-year-old Parker Fishwick has been chosen to play the younger version of his famous grandfather, Dave, in the new musical which is opening at the Lowry in Salford on Saturday.
Parker, who attends St Augustine of Canterbury RC Primary School in Burnley, shares an uncanny resemblance to his grandfather whose exploits in setting up his community bank was the basis for the hit Netflix film and now musical version.
A proud Dave told the Burnley Express: “I think it’s brilliant that Parker was chosen to play the young me in our upcoming musical. He really does look like me as a young lad, and also my late dad. He shares a lot of our mannerisms.”

Due to school commitments, Parker, who attends Burnley’s Act One Beginners performing arts school every Saturday, filmed his parts for the musical which will be broadcast in a flashback sequence on a big screen during the musical.
Dave added: “Parker hasn’t been acting for long and this is his first big performance so he’s so excited to take part.”
The youngster will become the third person to play Dave following Rory Kinnear’s portrayal in the film, while musical theatre star Sam Lupton will take the part in the musical.
The show will run at the Lowry from May 2nd to 16th before heading to Curve, Leicester where it will run from May 20th to 30th.
