Cinderella comes to Burnley Mechanics

The curtain goes up tonight on “Cinderella” - Burnley Panto Society’s annual tonic guaranteed to brighten up grey January days.

The stage is set, musicians at the ready, the colourful costumes in place and the two Ugly Sisters are - well, really ugly - as the fun begins and they try to keep their sister Cinderella in her place, down among the cinders in the kitchen.

But they hadn’t figured on her pal Buttons and Prince Charming who rides into town to save her from a life of drudgery.
