Rehearsals are moving forward apace as Burnley Municipal Choir fine tunes Messiah ahead of their performance on November 23 at Saint Peter’s Church.

Under the expert direction of Nigel Wilkinson, supported by skilled rehearsal pianist Duncan Robertson, the Choir is looking forward to presenting an outstanding performance. The Choir will be joined by a fine line up of acclaimed soloists including locally born Grace O’Malley who last sang Messiah with the Choir in 2023. This ever-popular work is an ideal opportunity to take a moment to relax and enjoy an evening of fine music before the busy Christmas bustle begins.

Following Messiah there is no time to relax for the Choir as they rehearse for their Voices and Brass concert of carols, light Christmas music and readings. Hebden Bridge Junior Band will be providing some festive brass.

Tickets for Messiah at St Peter’s Church are available from the Mechanics Box Office (early booking advised). The Choir’s Voices and Brass concert is at Saint Catherine’s Church Todmorden Road on December 18 at 7pm. Admission to this concert of seasonal favourites is free, but donations are welcome.
