Messiah rehearsals well underway

Burnley Municipal Choir is in fine voice as the members work hard rehearsing for their upcoming festive concert series.
It’s a tight schedule with an early launch to the season with a major performance of Handel’s Messiah on November 23. The Choir are eagerly perfecting their parts as they look forward this now traditional annual performance which signals the start of seasonal celebrations and always attracts a sell out audience. Following close on its heels is the choir’s Christmas Concert on December 18, with a programme of traditional carols, light Christmas music, readings and performances. The Choir is particularly looking forward to welcoming the Hebden Bridge Junior Band to add that festive brass sound to the celebration. It will surely be an evening to put you in the Christmas mood.
Tickets for Messiah at St Peter’s Church are available from the Mechanics Box Office (early booking advised). The Choir’s Voices and Brass concert is at Saint Catherine’s Church Todmorden Road on December 18 at 7pm. Admission to this concert of seasonal favourites is free, but donations are welcome.
