Jazz club gigs resume in Clitheroe

The latest monthly gig hosted by the Ribble Valley Jazz and Blues Club takes place on Thursday (September 6th), with a double helping of top class live music.

Held at the club’s usual venue – the Atrium Café Bar at Clitheroe Castle – thisis the opening gig of the new season after the summer break. Beginning at a new and earleir time of 7 p.m., it opens with a new and exciting young group called Pacific Lamppost.

They are followed by the main event, the Paul Rigby Quartet, with Rick Haliwell on sax, Andy Gleave on piano/vocals, Nathan Welsh on bass and Paul on drums. Widely acclaimed and with a strong following, the quartet plays a range of jazz from standards to fusion.

The venue has a licensed bar and food available, plus ample parking. Tickets are £10 at the door, with a £2 discount for members and half-price for students and under-16s.

Its next club gig at The Atrium will feature the Stuart Riley Octet on Thursday October 4th, again at 7 p.m.
