Burnley band’s homecoming

HOME will be where the heart is when heavy metallers I.C.O.N return to Burnley this month.

The drum-beating, fret-bounding four-piece are playing the Sanctuary, Cow Lane, on Saturday, April 7th.

In recent years, I.C.O.N has shared the stage with artists such as Diamond Head, Blaze Bayley, Witchfynde, Voodoo Six And Sworn To Oath amongst many other great rock and metal bands and their fanbase continues to swell across Europe.

This will be the first leg of shows on their New Born Lie tour promoting their popular debut album on which they will be playing with rising bands such as Kyrbgrinder and Line Of Fire. They will also be making an appearance at the Metalgods Festival in Mansfield in May alongside Def Con One, Stuka Squadron, Evil Scarecrow and many more.

After a challenging 2011 which saw founding members, vocalist Mark Sagar and Guitarist Scott Knowles having to rebuild the band due to the departure of their long term drummer and bassist, 2012 is set to be a very exciting year for all connected with I.C.O.N.

With a second leg of the tour planned for later in the year, which will include shows in London and Europe, the lads are busier than ever especially with plans for a second album well underway.

Support for the Sanctuary gig will come in the form of Fire In The Empire. Entry is free and the doors open at 9 p.m.
