The specially selected compilation of fascinating films includes footage The Last Trams in Colne in 1934, the Knocker Upper on his rounds and the children of Coal Clough Burnley playing street games during 1958.

Football fans can follow the crowds to Turf Moor as the Clarets take on the Busby Babes in the only known colour footage of the tragic team from the Burnley took on Manchester United in 1957. Meanwhile see how the Queen and Prince Philip took a tour of Malvern Mill in 1955.

The changing nature of the area and how it was promoted are seen in New Fields for Industry from 1957 and A Place to Live from 1974 and the screening finishes with how the locals relaxed during One Weekend in August.

The archive’s service manager Marion Hewitt said: “This is a great opportunity for the people of Burnley and Pendle to enjoy an evening with a difference, and take a look back at life in and around their location in the past century.”
