And on the road to fame she has experienced many adventures on and off the screen. The actress best known for her roles as Cindy Beale in Eastenders and the current Stella Price in Cornonation Street has written her autobiography to co-incide with her departure from Weatherfield next month.

The gutsy actress fought her way up after being rejected from every drama school in London. Starting out as a backing singer in the 1980s to working on television in such programmes as Two Thousand Acres of Sky and Sunburn and enjoying starring roles in the West End.

Michelle grew up in North London with her young single mother and sister and worked hard to find stardom. Her book tells tales of her life communal living on a boat moored at a vicarage in Battersea and shared with her gay friend Mark. It relives Michelle’s adventure working in Los Angeles and the birth of her daughter Maia.

An entertaining book with more twists and turns than the average soap opera!
