Book Review: Not for Turning: The Life of Margaret Thatcher, by Robin Harris

Love her or hate her. There is no denying that Margaret Thatcher made her mark on British politics.

Close friend and author Robin Harris has written a great insight into the former prime minister’s life. Harris worked for the Conservative party from 1978 and increasingly closely with Thatcher from 1985, writing her speeches and advising on policy.

Harris worked with Thatcher on the book, which they both agreed would not be published until after her death as it contains judgements from both Thatcher and Harris about events throughout her career and those who played a part in them.

In short this book gives a wonderful insight into Thatcher’s life and is a colourful one based on a fascinating figure.
