Book review: Bradt Lille Guide

This beautiful city is well worth a visit. It was the first destination on my Inter-Railing trip around Europe many moons ago.

Since then it has been the European City for Culture, which brought in the money to make sure this lovely French place is kept firmly on the map.

Author Laurence Phillips brings the city to life with the fourth edition of this guide, which takes you through the streets, squares and tables of the capital of Flanders. There are reviews of over 100 restaurants, bistros, bars and cafes, peeks inside the city’s impressive galleries and museums and an easy guide beyond the city to places including the new Louvre-Lens museum.
