Former Clarets winger Chris Eagles has joined Championship side Charlton Athletic.

Eagles, 29, recently left Blackpool after a two-month spell, where he played seven games for the Seasiders.

The former Manchester United man joined Burnley for £1m in the summer of 2008, and scored eight goals in 57 appearances as the Clarets were promoted to the Premier League.

His best scoring season came in 2010/11 when he netted 15 goals in 48 games, earning a move to Bolton Wanderers with Tyrone Mears in a combined £3m deal.

Eagles hit 19 goals in 106 appearances for Wanderers before being released in the summer.
