Death crash inquest opened
An inquest has been opened and adjounred into the death of a father-of-four in a horror smash at the weekend.
Mr Qaser Abbas (37) of Halifax Road, Brierfield, died after the four car smash at rush hour at Junction 8 of the M65 and the A678 Blackburn Road, Padiham, known as the Shuttleworth link road shortly after 7-30am.
East Lancashire Coroner Mr Richard Taylor heard that the accident had been caused when Mr Abbas had attempted to overtake a lorry.
The Coroner adjourned the inquest until March 28th for further investigations to take place.
