Pensioner drove off after hitting traffic lights
Burnley Magistrates’ Court heard how Mohammed Arif (67) didn’t make any attempt to inspect the damage after the collision in Walverden Road, Nelson, on February 3rd. A witness passed his registration number to the police.
Arif was later spoken to by officers and admitted he had been at the wheel and also that his insurance had expired on January 3rd.

He was fined £150, with six penalty points and must pay a £20 statutory surcharge and £85 costs.
