Good to see spending on our town centre

I have always held the belief that a thriving town centre is vital to the well-being of Burnley.

Thankfully, our shopping area has fared better than most in recent years with the number of vacant units being well below the regional average.

Part of the reason for this is the money that has been spent on Charter Walk. Now Burnley Council is to spend money on the pedestrianised St James’s Street area.

In these austere times it is good to see money is being made available for such a vital facility.
