Magic night in Sabden
Wall hanging
It is hoped to soon make the draw for a textile wall hanging made by Mrs Anita Boylan, who has also made two cushions for runner-up prizes. Tickets are 2.50 each available from St Mary's RC Church where the hanging is on display. Proceeds are for the community hall fund.
Christian Aid
The recent house-to- house collection in Sabden for Christian Aid amounted to 588. Sabden Christian Council thank all the collectors and those who donated.

Hide AdThis weekend, Sabden Parish Church of St Nicholas will hold its annual garden party and crowning of the rose queen followed by the annual procession of witness on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Saturday garden party begins at 3 p.m. at the church hall where there will be stalls, games and refreshments. A call has gone out for prizes and items for the stalls.
St Mary's
There will be a meeting tomorrow at 7-30 p.m. in the church house to discuss arrangements for the annual garden party at St Mary's RC Church on Saturday, June 26th, at 2 p.m. Anyone who is willing to help or has suggestions for stalls is asked to go along. The latest 20 bonus ball winners were James Masterman, Bob Tuffnell and Leo and Betty Clarkson.
Sabden Live
The recent Sabden Live event raised 1,100 for Pendleside and East Lancashire hospices. There was a presentation at the Pendle Witch pub which hosted the event and representatives of both charities received their cheques.
Sabden Live was organised by Kevan Lingard, with pub licensees Ben and Kerry Crook, and a number of the local acts who had taken part in the live music event also took part in the celebration.

Hide AdThere was music from Samantha Booth, Marco Galea, Paul Leather and Kevan himself, who is a member of the Herman's Hermits, and it was followed by karaoke. There was also a raffle which will go to the hospices, and burgers and hotdogs were on sale.
Gathering
Sabden Baptist Church is hosting a special ecumenical gathering on Saturday, June 26th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This will be for reflection, teaching and prayer and will be led by the Rev. Michelle Jarmany of Clitheroe United Reformed Church.
It is open to all and the cost is 5. Those attending should take an item for a shared lunch.
