Almost 50 blades were given up in the latest knife amnesty in Burnley town centre.

The collection of 49 items, which included a large knife with an animal print handle, was recovered from the knife bin on Centenary way.

Named Operation Edge, a spokesman for Burnley and Padiham Police said they were continuing to get good results from the amnesty.
