A Burnley student is preparing for television stardom.

Blessed Trinity pupil Nicki Shepherd (13) has landed a role in CBBC’s 4 O’Clock Club and is now looking to take his acting talent further.

Nicki, who suffers from cerebral palsy, has always had an interest in acting and joined his local youth theatre in Burnley. The former Briercliffe Primary School pupil then signed up to Carol Godby’s Theatre Workshop Drama school in Bury, which also schooled famous local television actors Sam Aston and Lucien Laviscount.

“When you have been there for six months and have developed your acting to a certain standard you can enlist with an acting agency so that you can audition for acting jobs.” Nicki applied to be an extra on the popular The 4 O’Clock Club but the casting director asked him to audition for an actual part.

“She said she was so impressed with how well he remembered his lines and his acting ability,” added English teacher Sarah Webb. “Now I want to see where it takes him.”
