Celebrities, bears and a wet sponge soaking... all for Children in Need

A Burnley primary school has raised the incredible amount of £450 for Children in Need.

They pulled out all the stops at Holy Trinity Primary School and staff and pupils were chuffed when BBC North West Tonight host Graham Liver arrived for a special visit.

He called in at the school enroute to Bare in Morecambe from Pudsey in West Yorkshire as part of a 100 mile publicity tour, pulling a bed!.

And Graham was joined by Pudsey Bear and the Mayor of Burnley Coun. Jeff Sumner when they landed at the school in Raglan Road.

Headteacher Mrs Sally Smith was interviewed live by Graham before she presented him with a cheque for the money the school raised.

Events held to raise the cash included placing sports co-ordinator Mr Simon Grime in the stocks for a good soaking with wet sponges, a non uniform day, and a bake sale themed on the TV reality show The Apprentice.
