Burnley’s historic Weavers’ Triangle is in the middle of a massive transformation with millions of pounds of investment pouring into the town.

And, as our picture montage shows, work on the On The Banks project is well underway on the public realm areas situated just off Sandygate.

The computer generated images show how new student accommodation buildings will bring life and vitality into the area.

After years of waiting and scepticism it is now all systems go for the regeneration of Burnley’s canalside areas.

On The Banks is one of the largest and most exciting heritage-led regeneration schemes underway in the UK, transforming one of the country’s best preserved areas of industrial heritage into a vibrant and unique ‘destination’ for business, living, leisure and education.

Unique historic buildings that sit along the banks of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal at the heart of Burnley are being restored with a modern 21st century twist, sensitively mixing historic features with iconic modern infrastructure, creating unrivalled mixed use waterside sites.

The £100m. project, set on the north and south banks of the canal, will provide inimitable landmark public spaces, impressive office and creative workspace, living accommodation, with leisure and retail centres on the water’s edge.

The scheme is being developed by Barnfield Construction.
