Dynamic young dancers from Burnley have hot footed their way to victory in a prestigious competition.
Eight out of 10 teams of 70 dancers who entered the UK Cheer Association’s winter competition from Next Level Dance were placed in the top three with three first places.
And there was success for dance school owner Lucy Fallows who fulfilled a lifetime ambition when she formed Next Level Dance just a year ago. Judges awarded her the Club Development Award which is presented to acknowledge a coach for their professionalism, dedication and for training dancers to an exceptionally high standard.
Lucy (21) said: “I am so proud of my dancers for working so hard and I also feel proud that my school has also been recognised after just one year. It was my dream to do this and I have 100 dancers who come to classes every week from the ages of three to 26.’’ Thirsty for more success, the Mini Peeps dance team entered Burnley’s Got Talent with their street and cheer dance routine and won their way through to the live vote.
A former student of dance, drama and performing arts at Burnley College, staff offered Lucy the opportunity to base her school from there.
Lucy holds classes for students at the college and she also works in schools and nurseries across the borough and she also works with special needs adults.
