Look who popped into town this Christmas!
The Legendary Osmonds – consisting of original songwriters and frontmen Jay and Merrill – will be bringing their five-piece band to the Grand on Friday, February 16th, for a special one-off concert (tickets £28.50).
And Jay, who now lives in Chester, popped in to Clitheroe to check out The Grand Venue, where he and brother Merrill will be launching the next chapter of an illustrious career in rock and pop music.

“We are really excited about it and playing in Clitheroe at such an intimate theatre is just perfect.
“Merrill and I are thrilled to be coming.
“With the theme of the show being Valentine’s Day, there will be an emphasis on the love songs in this special set.
“Of course, there will also be rock n roll and we are looking to do things live that we have never released before – as well as play lots of hits which everyone will remember from the good old days!”

Hide AdThe Osmonds – who hail from Salt Lake City, Utah – shot to fame as teen idols in the early 1970s, posting their first of their numerous number one singles in the United States “One Bad Apple” in 1971.
By 1973 they had broken into this country big time, posting no fewer than 13 singles in the UK charts in one year.
At their peak, The Osmonds concerts were known for attracting legions of female fans, but Jay explains the demographics have changed a little over the years and highlighted how the audience has evolved.
“There’s plenty of guys in the audience now,” Jay laughed.
“We like to involve the audience in the shows, remembering the old but celebrating new times.”

“We have plans to write a new album and revisit some older material that stayed in the can.
“There’s so much out there.”
