Game Review: Adventure Park

It’s about time there was a new theme park management sim on the block after a long time in the dark.

Bitcomposer Entertainment and German developers b-alive has brought back one of the most fun kind of sims that graced the video games market, theme parks, with their new game simply titled Adventure Park.

You’re in charge of a number of a shell of a theme park and your goal is simple, succeed. In each scenario, you are required to complete a set number of specific tasks whilst creating your own Alton Towers. Success in doing this and it’s onto the next with the difficulty raised a little bit regarding tasks and limitations.

The single player campaign consists of 8 different scenarios to play through although there is no fanfare present to make things exciting such as intro and ending movies or even a story, just there you go, there’s an empty park, off you go, enjoy. Rides and shops and stalls unlock as you progress but there’s nothing in place to make achieving tasks satisfying which is a shame considering how fun this game is to actually play.

Adventure Park looks beautiful with the high resolution graphics and great attention to detail. Rides genuinely look fun making you wish there were rides like it in real life and even the blandest of trees can make your park look like a tropical paradise. Themed rides such as a cosmic roller coaster. Pharaohs Tomb or a pirate ship looks intensely fun and highly detailed even more so when in operation.

Summary

B-alive have taken the old but immensely formula of theme park sim and boosted it into a colourfully simple gem of a game that isn’t without fault but it’s ridiculously addictive especially in sandbox mode where finance isn’t an issue enabling players to create to their hearts content. Bursting with detail and a wide array of interesting and fun looking themed rides and attractions. Definitely worth a play.
