African choir hit the right note with Burnley schoolchildren
The art of carrying buckets of water on their heads was demonstrated to pupils at Burnley's St Mary Magdalene's RC Primary School this week.
And PE co-ordinator Mr Richard Johnson was the member of staff to accept the challenge to have a go...resulting in a water spillage in the school hall that amused and entertained everyone a great deal.
The extraordinary demonstration was carried out by children and staff from the Bethany Choir Project who are visiting schools in the UK from their home in Tanzania, Africa. Girls as young as seven have to do this everyday, carrying the clean water from one village to another
The choir sang a selection of beautiful songs and prayers before they visited each classroom and took part in a question and answer session.
