Visiting captain Tiarnan Hamill won the toss and put Lowerhouse in, with the threat of storms, and Jon Finch continued in the same vein from last weekend, as he made his way to 21 not out, with Joe Martin playing a support role, unbeaten on four.

However, with only 54 balls delivered, no further play was possible, and the sides take three points each.

Meanwhile, it was a similar story for champions Burnley at Thorneyholme Road against Accrington.

The hosts won the toss and inserted Bharat Tripathi’s side, who made 20-0 in the five overs possible, with in-form Vishal Tripathi on 10 and professional Chris Holt on seven.
