Stephen seals Grand Prix win!

THERE was another excellent turnout of fell runners for this year’s Boulsworth Fell Race, which is now an established part of the annual Trawden Agricultural Show.

A total of 125 runners took part, which included a good number from local club Trawden.

The winner was Stephen Chew from Wharfedale Harriers, who also sealed his victory as the winner of this year’s Burnley and Pendle Grand Prix, of which Boulsworth was the final race.

Second was James Titmuss from Pudsey, with fellow Pudsey runner Darren Burnley in third.

First local runner was Heath McDonald Noble of Trawden, who had a great run to finish fifth overall.

First lady was Helen Fines of Calder Valley, followed by Amy Green of Keighley and Craven and third was Sarah Sarginson of Bowland Fell Runners.

First local lady was Molly Ralphson of Trawden who finished sixth overall.

Special mention to Harry Kaye of Trawden and Beckie Taylor of Blackburn Harriers who won the Under 20 age category - Beckie was the fourth lady home and and in the top 20 overall – a tremendous run.

Paul Hesketh of PH Electricals Laneshawbridge kindly sponsored the race prizes.

This was the last race of a hugely successful Burnley and Pendle Grand Prix 2012 and the presentation night is tonight at the 1882 Lounge at Burnley Football Club.

Everyone who has run in the series is welcome with free entry and food.
