Sporting success for Blessed Trinity aces

Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic High School have enjoyed a string of sporting successes.

The Under 13 cricket girls are the fourth best team in Lancashire.

The girls came through the Burnley schools’ competition and an area final to reach the county tournament in Bolton Arena, where they won two and lost one to finish in fourth.

Meanwhile, Edward Burnie is one to keep an eye on as he shows off his judo skills at the England Academy.

Edward, 14, has been training at Bacup Judo Club since the age of six and has represented the North West before being selected to represent England in January.

He is a Blue Belt and has attended international competitions in Germany and Sweden, competing at -46kg.

He trains with the England Academy in Walsall every month with his dream to reach the Olympics.

And Blessed Trinity also won a host of medals at a gymnastics competition at the Best Centre.

In the Level Two individual event, Libby Stalton-Tracey won bronze, while, in the Level Three individual competition, the bronze went to Emma Taylor, the silver to Rafaella Musso and the gold Antonia Wright, to win team gold.

In the Level One pairs event, Annabelle Uttley and Rosie Railton won bronze, while Molly Mansworth and Kara James collected silver.

In the vault, Ashwin Stanly, and the team, won silver.
