Sophie set for European finale
Olympic hammer thrower Sophie Hitchon will compete in the final of the European Championships in Amsterdam, Holland, today.
The 24-year-old athlete, who qualified for the Games in Rio by retaining her status as British champion at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham recently, posted a distance of 69.48m in the Dutch capital to qualify.
Poland’s Anita Wlodarczyk finished top in qualifying with a throw of 73.94m.
