BLESSED Trinity RC College ran away with a hatful of awards at the recent Burnley School's Cross-Country Championship.

Of the six races entered, pupils from the college were successful in four events.

Year 7 boys and girls took first place, as did the Year 8 and 9 boys' and girls' team in their event.

In the senior races, the boys and girls came in second.

Starring for the college were brothers, Year 11 James and Year 9 Ben McKenna, who both won their respective races.

Year 9 pupil Melissa Mitchell also ran excellently to take gold in the Year 8 and 9 race.

On the netball court, Year 10 Blessed Trinity girls once again shone in the recent Burnley schools championship.

They won all four matches on their way to sealing victory at Year 10 level for the fourth year on the trot, having previously been victorious under the guise of St Hilda's RC Girls' High School.
