The deadlock was eventually broken when Birkett finished a flowing move down the right hand side.

After the break Forest continued to dominate and a well worked short corner saw skipper Di Mcinnes sweep the ball home to make it 2-0.

Forest then replaced a defender for an extra forward as they went in search of another goal and were soon rewarded with a third as Cath Hutchinson converted a short corner.

Forest thought they had a fourth when Birkett scored, only to see the goal disallowed for an earlier infringement

A good start for Forest who ran out 3-0 winners.
