LETTER: Do you remember Spitfire crash on moors?

i AM currently researching an accident involving Spitfire Mk II, serial number P8161.

The aircraft came to grief on May 14th, 1941 as it was being ferried by a pilot from No. 9 Maintenance Unit, Maintenance Command.

The pilot, who was killed in the accident, was Sgt Charles Edward Bell, RAFVR, of Wrose in West Yorkshire.

The aircraft crashed on the moors between Colne and Keighley.

Do any of your readers remember the incident or have heard about it from someone else?
