Last signalbox from Brierfield to be saved
Pendle Council’s Brierfield and Reedley Committee has agreed to an application from Network Rail for the demolition of the box to allow improvement works to the level crossing to take place.
And Network Rail has agreed to rebuild the box using the original materials on the former Brierfield Mills car park a stone’s throw away from where it stands now.

A former employee at the box, local historian Geoff Crambie, spoke at the meeting and appealed to Network Rail for the retention of the box.
“It is the last box of its kind on the line and I am very pleased that Network Rail has agreed to resite it on the car park,” he said.
