Gawthorpe High School class of 1976 reunion

The eight friends left the school in 1976, and in some cases it had been nearly 30 years since they had seen each other.

The meal took place at the Bay Horse, Fence, and Mrs Julie Gruszka (nee Pennington) said it was a really enjoyable evening.

“It came about through Anne really. She has lived in Northern Ireland for 20-plus-years now, but we still send Christmas cards. This year she said she was coming back to visit the area in the summer, and it would be nice to meet up with some of our old school friends.

“It was just like being a kid again. It was lovely to meet up with everyone and we all had a really nice night.”
