Enjoy Victorian Christmas at Clitheroe Castle

People of all ages can step back into Christmas past at Clitheroe Castle Museum.

From today (December 20th) until Sunday, museum visitors will be invited to enjoy tales of a Victorian Christmas with the castle steward.

Visitors can drop in between 12-30 and 3-30 pm. Tickets are £3.85 for adults, £2 for concession, and include entry to the museum. Accompanied children go for free.

Rachel Jackson, museum manager at Clitheroe Castle, said: “Visitors will be greeted by a costumed Victorian maid and shown into the kitchen where they will be served a glass of port or non-alcoholic Christmas punch and a mince pie.

“Our Victorian steward, will welcome them and join them for a drink, before sharing his experience of Victorian Christmas traditions.

“The steward will then introduce his guests to the house, which is home to the museum.”
