1960s Scout uniforms needed for Clitheroe theatre group show

WERE you a Scoutmaster in the 1960s? Did you hang onto your uniform?

If you were, and you did, then you could be the saviour a Clitheroe theatre group is looking for.

Clitheroe Parish Church Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society is presenting “Post Horn Gallop”, the farce by Derek Benfield, from October 12th-15th at the town’s St Mary’s Centre. But its costume department has hit a snag - it needs three 1960s men’s Scout uniforms, including accessories, especially the hats.

The society’s publicity officer, Brian Haworth, pleaded: “If there are any men out there who were Scoutmasters and still have their uniform tucked away in a cupboard and would be willing to loan the items to us, could they please contact secretary Lesley Haworth on 01254 248679 as soon as possible.

“This is a hilarious play and Lesley, who is also the director, wants every detail to be correct. If anyone can help us with this, we will be very grateful.”
