Muay Thai World Champion Eryn is the golden girl in Italy

Teenager Eryn Fletcher dug deep and struck gold in the WTKA unified World Championships.

The Burnley High School student, who trains out of JC’s Gym in Accrington, was the shining light of the competition held in Carrara, Italy.

The 12-year-old, who has been mastering the art of Muay Thai for four-and-a-half years, won her first title at the age of nine when taking the Celtic Challenge belt for her age and weight category.

A year later Eryn won her first WKA British title belt and added two more in subsequent years.

She competed in Sheffield this April in the Open Intercontinental and qualified for her place on the biggest stage. And Eryn refused to waste the opportunity, bringing back gold for her country.
