Wise wins decider for St Peter’s

Scott Wise won the deciding match to give St Peter’s victory over Cheetham Hill.

Jonathan Smith started this North West Counties League match well, winning 3-0. This was followed by two defeats, Daniel Whittaker and Nik Czerniani both losing 3-0.

St Peter’s number one Rod Taggart was up against his strongest opponent to date. Taggart was playing a more defensive game than usual, with no casual shots.

If his attacking play faltered, he returned to defence and came out on top 3-2.

The match was now tied at 2-2, and Wise, won with a combination of shots to a full length, and when his opponent was out of position he played a dying length, causing the Cheetham Hill player to scramble.

This tactic continued until the match was won 3-1 resulting in a victory to St Peter’s.
