St Peter’s went down 3-2 at top of the league David Lloyd Chorley in the North West Counties Squash League.

Things did not look good when Ron Darlington, Jonathan Smith, and Daniel Whittaker all lost 3-0 to stronger Chorley players.

It was left to Scott Wise to restore some pride, and this he did against an opponent who had no answer to his serve, which Scott played so high, it came down with snow on it, winning 3-1.

Last on court was the undefeated number one Rod Taggart, and the match was going to plan, taking an early 2-0 lead. However, the Chorley player changed his game and drew level 2-2.

It looked as if Rod’s 100% record was in jeopardy. When asked at the break if he had anything left he replied “I have enough to win this” and he did, 3-2.

St Peter’s next match is in two weeks against Cheetham Hill at home.
