Sandygate Amateur Boxing Club’s busiest Regional Champion “Smokin’” Joe Crawford (12) graced the ring once again when he faced the North West champion from the year above.

Crawford took on J.McGuiness (Jimmy Egan’s) at the Conservative Club, Whythenshawe, Greater Manchester, with the Ightenhill starlet hoping to keep his perfect season intact.

After some strong words from his corner, the Year 8 St Christopher’s Pupil came out to the opening bell and produced three rounds of perfect pugilistic ring craft, countering, commanding, with switches and phases of attack aplenty.

So good was his performance, his normally animated cornerman was silenced in-between rounds!

It was no surprise when classy Crawford’s hand was raised the winner, extending his unbeaten season still further

The ever-busy Crawford, along with 13 of his stablemates, was again in action last night at the Sandygate home show at Burnley Mechanics,in a fundraising event for the Clarets Cheer and Dance Group.
