Burnley Tornados had a mixed bag of results as they travelled to County Durham for their third tournament of the season.

Their first game was called against Woodham Warriors.

Flynn Griffith ran in for the first touchdown, before scores were traded, and at the half the Tornados led 20-16.

The second half started with Tornados on defense, but a pass to Gino Bradshaw put them in the lead again.

It went to the last play of the game, where Woodham needed to catch the extra point to win, and their quarterback lofted the ball over the Tornados defense to win 43-42.

After a short break, the Tornados were up against a strong DC Presidents team.

The Tornados just couldn’t gel in this game, despite going 6-0 up with a 35-yard run by Griffith, as DC Presidents went into the half 8-6 up.

In the second half, Tornados scored with a 12-yard pass for the two-point conversion to Griffith, but DC came back to score a touchdown.

The gameclock expired with Tornados on the six-yard line, with the game tied.

The Tornados finished off against Manchester Titans.

Griffith ran in a 35-yard touchdown, and Paddy Berkins caught the two-point conversion.

James Macken then picked off the ball and run it back 30 yards, and Josh Bonnick recovered a fumbled ball and scored for a 37-7 half-time lead.

In a shortened second half, further scores led to a convincing 50-13 win.
