Blessed Trinity’s Katie Maudsley has been selected for the Lancashire netball Under 15s squad from September.
The Year 10 student is the first girl from Blessed Trinity to achieve such recognition.
Meanwhile, at the Lancashire Schools’ Games recently, Blessed Trinity qualified for the plate cup in the handball competition, and after being beaten in the first two games by the eventual finalists, the team of nine Year 9 boys went on to win.
At the same competition, Trinity also qualified for the super 8s athletics comp for Year 7 pupils. There are eight boys and eight girls who compete in a track and field event, and then a relay.
Although the team didn’t win overall, Anya Richmond won the shot putt and Harvey McAdam won his 100m heat.
