Six of Burnley Bobcats’ youth swimmers were in action at the ASA North West Region Youth Championships at the Manchester Aquatics Centre.
The swimmers, Emma Fothergill, Erica Minozzi, Kerry Holding, Katie Rennolds, Abigail Procter, William Murray and Luke Pickles all qualifying for the final of an event.
Murray, in the 15/16 age group, was sixth in the final of the 100m butterfly, and in the final of the 50m and 100m freestyle he won silver and bronze medals.
Holding, in the 17/18 age group, reached the finals of the 50m butterfly, 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, earning personal bests in all finals.
Pickles, in the 17/18 age group, qualified for the final of the 50m breaststroke and 50m fly events.
Minozzi (15) reached the final of the 400m freestyle, whilst Proctor (15) qualified for the final of the 200m butterfly.
The Womens freestyle team - Fothergill, Holding, Minozzi and Rennolds - competed in the 4x 100m and 4x200m events in the 15/18 age group category.
They girls swam their individual legs excellently and the team finished in fourth place in the 4 x 200m event in a time of 8.53.46, which qualified them for the ASA Nationals at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
Head coach Mike Robinson said: “Our swimmers all put in excellent performances, and all qualified for a final.”
