Erica and Jamie claim Lancs gold

A TEAM of swimmers from Burnley Aquatics have been competing in the Lancashire County Championships - with two among the gold medals.

Held over two weekends, first in Liverpool and then in Manchester, all the swimmers put on an excellent performance, winning a total of 19 medals.

Erica Minozzi won gold in the 100m backstroke, 400m freestyle and 100 fresstyle, adding silver medals in the 800m fresstyle, 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 200m freestyle.

Jamie Sharpley was also a gold medallist in the 50m butterfly, while winning silver medals in the 200m backstroke and 50m backstroke, and bronze in the 200m butterfly and 200m individual medley.

Ella Sheridan won silver in the 800m freestyle and bronze medals in the 400m freestyle and 200m freestyle.

Katie Rennolds took bronze in the 800m freestyle, 200m fresstyle and 100m fresstyle, and Harry Pilkington won a silver medal in the 200m freestyle.

All swimmers managed to achieve personal best times, with many obtaining their Regional Qualyifying times for 2011.
