Callum Carver is certainly striking out - as he is the third best in England at Under 16 level at ten-pin bowling.
Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic College student Callum, 12, only took up the sport about a year ago and competes for Blackburn Youth Bowling Club.
“I tried ten-pin bowling around a year ago and liked it,” said Year Eight student Callum. “This is especially because you can play in the winter and keep warm!
“I have competed all over England and recently came third in the British Open Under 16 event. I felt really proud.
“I have also played for Lancashire Under 16s and have come second in doubles at the Lincolnshire Open at Under 16 level as well.
“I don’t know why I am so good at it - I just enjoy it. It is a bit of an unusual sport but all my friends think it’s great.”
