Butterfield pair triumph at Burnley Golf Club

The Butterfield team triumphed in the 4 ball better ball (stableford) at Burnley Golf Club.

Steve and Geoff neat Gary Baldes and Andy Heaton on a card playoff with 42 points.

Kim Stevens and Mark Ridgway finished third with 41 points.

Winners of the winter league matches were Mark Corns and Nick Macadam, Ben Pate and Rob Skeath, Glen Shiel and Steve Hargreaves, Alan Rigby Lovat and Phil Handley, William Holmes and Shane Waite and finally Jerry Starr and Shaun Starr.

The winner of the Nearest the Pin competition was Alan Rigby-Lovat who came within 7 feet 2 inches of the flag.

At Whalley Golf Club it was the second competition in the Jamie Hunt Winter Order of Merit on Saturday.

The first competition winner and gaining himself 10 points was Captain Elect Richard Ferley with a very good 33 points, second was John Kearsley 31 points and third place going to John Hyde 28 points.

Competition Two saw Roy Ellis come back after injury to post 32 points, John Rostron was second 31 points just pipping Gary Rocky Meakin also with 31 pts.

Only one two on the day went to Stephen Green.

Joint leaders of the Order of Merit are Richard Ferley and Roy Ellis with 10 points each.
