Burnley Rugby Club stalwart is honoured

BURNLEY Rugby Club has been honoured at the Lancashire RFU club volunteer awards.

Junior committee member and welfare officer Fran Murphy was awarded for many years of service with the club by Lancashire president Tommy Hughes during the ceremony held at Blackburn RUFC.

In the final match of the season Burnley 2nds secured fifth spot in the league with a comprehensive demolition of Rossendale 67-0.

Try scorers were Gavin Little, Adam Healy, Simon Finnan, Richard Murray, Christian Allanson, Danny Foster, Danny Marshall, Ryan Bradley, Luca Angelone (2), Adam Lee (2) all scored tries.

Skipper Gus Ferguson added six conversions and Adam Lee was man-of-the-match.

This Sunday sees the clubs AGM noon followed by player awards
