The Turkey Shoot Four Ball Betterball competition at Burnley Golf Club on Saturday was won by Andy Perry and Eric Hargreaves with 43 points, on a card play-off.

Second, with the same 43 points, were Andy Heaton and Gary Blades, with Martin Leach and Ian Whalley third, two points adrift.

In the Foursomes Final, matches are played throughout the season to win this major championship, and the pairing of Ben Scott and Shaun Kendall won a close encounter by 2 and 1 against David Robinson and Terry Davies.

The winter league, played as match play better ball, got off to a good start last week, and after two matches, last year’s runners-up Alun Jones and Glen Shiel have taken an early lead.

Having won both matches played, the only pair to do so, they are at the top of the leaderboard.

But with 13 matches still to be played over the winter period, there is still time for all teams to edge into a position to qualify for a final play-off place.

The ladies’ stableford last Thursday was won by Joyce Green with 37 points from Debbie Haworth with 32.

Third was Jean Scaife with 30 points.

On Sunday, November 3rd, November, Burnley Golf Club are hosting their annual open turkey shoot.

At Towneley Golf Club William Haddock won the latest round of the Winter League at Towneley Golf Club . He amassed a tally of 44points to come top of the pile.

Runner up was Andy Read ahead of Ian Metcalfe. Nearest the Pin awards went to David Drinkwater and Steve Bird.
