Seamus Alexander won the Bogey Competition at Burnley Golf Club on Saturday, with +6.

He finished a shot ahead of Craig Holden, who was second on the card from Peter Lofthouse with +5.

A bogey competition is where a player plays against the course, and scores either better or worse than the par for each hole.

So a player finishing on 6, as the winner did, has played 6 shots better than par.

A player with a minus score has scored that many shots worse than the par for the course.

In the ladies’ competition, last Thursday, Norma Munroe and Audrey Hill’s 37 points won, after a card play-off with Susan Kelly and Lynda Makin.

Meanwhile, at Towneley Golf Club, Paul Haslam is the latest golfer to receive one of the limited edition Boss watches.

The popular postman holed in one at the sixth hole to earn his reward.

Ticker’s Aces won the Texas Scramble at the weekend with a tremendous score of 57.3.

Their team comprised of Terry Whittaker, Dave Allott, Tim Clarke and Rick Southern.

Buchanan’s Buccaneers were runners-up with 57.7 - John Buchanan, Roger Phillips, Faz Mahmood and D. Blackburn.
