Burnley struggled to beat a talented Bury team in the North West Counties Squash League, with the 4-1 scoreline not reflecting how close the match was.
The signs were ominous when, after leading 2-1, Daniel Whittaker let the Bury’s Robert Sanderson back into the game.
Daniel had no answer to the excellent serves from Sanderson, who took the final game 15-5 to win 3-2.
Steve Morris was game point down, but managed to take the first game 16-14, before running out a 3-0 winner.
The next encounter between Rod Taggart and James Weeks of Bury was a close affair - at 1-1 the odds were in favour of the Bury player, however, Rod hit a purple patch of form, squeezing past the post to win 3-1.
Nik Czerninin made short work of his opponent, winning 3-0 with a mixture of powerful drives and delicate drop shots.
Burnley’s number one Graham Riley went 2-0 down, but came back to win his 13th-straight match 3-2.
